Games, games, & more games!!! This was my first PSX (this is only their second one) and it was great. Tons of people, stickers, buttons, camera and of course PS4s. The much anticipated PlayStation VR was on show with many demos on hand. I was able to get my hands on a VR demo called Job Simulator which just mimic the daily operations at a job like making coffee, throwing sugar, and ripping paper ya know the normal. It was pretty fun having the option to look around and grab thing while actually seeing your hands. The crowds roared with excitement for the remakes of Final Fantasy 7 which looked AMAZING, with new combat styles & weapons. Ratchet & Clank will also be getting a remake which will include new boss battles, weapons, as well as a movies too.
The Street Fighter 5 special character was finally revealed who’s name is Fang. Yakuza (the game I never played but love) will have a part 5 and will be coming to PS3 & Yakuza Zero will be coming to the PS4. Sadly many games featured at PSX won’t be released till next year but luckily attendees get access to the betas of many of the games such as Kill Strain *loved it*, Dead Star, World of Tanks *Awesome*, Fat Princess and much more. YAY!!! Now being the gamer that I am I tend to play more indie games, which is what I spent most of my time doing. One game which I originally seen at Indie Cade in NYC was EarthNight. In the game you play as either Sydney (14yr high school girl) or Stanley (freelance photographer) to save the earth which has been taken over by Dragons…I know right…that’s deep. Its beyond beautiful to look at and very fun to play.
My new fave game which I’m look forward to owning is Tumblestone. Its a match 3 puzzle game *I LOVE PUZZLE GAMES*. Both multilayer & solo will be available when released and on multiple platforms as well. Klaus is about an office worker who wakes up in a basement with amnesia, imprisoned in a world of mechanics looking for a way out. He’s an adorable lil character and the gets more challenging as you move along. I think I was in the 3rd chapter and got stuck…but I love a challenge! Life Goes On: Done to Death was a unique game: Kill yourself in order to reach the goal. Well of course not just die but to kill yourself to strategically to help you get to the other side but your dead self help you in special ways.
A tetris-ish game called Tricky Towers where you build a tower with tetris pieces up to beat your opponent in a race. I beat every stranger that challenge me lol. There Came An Echo is a voice control thriller/shooter which worked pretty well give the amount of noise in the convention center. Sadly I didn’t get to play is long as I wanted because they started their daily giveaways of which I didn’t win any. Now from SKA Studios also known for the Dishwasher games as well as Charlie Murder, will soon bless us with Salt and Sanctuary. Salt and Sanctuary is a hardcore RPG with full character customization, multiplayer interaction, hidden shortcuts, powerful bosses and of course some bad ass music as they always provide. The game has a dark undertone like most of their games which one let’s you know it’s a SKA game, secondly set it a part style wise from anything else *double bonus awesomeness* and third keep you invested to see what’s coming next.
