That Hand Held New New

So I know someone, who knows someone, that got the hook up for me to attend a Samsung Event. This of course took place before the phone were released (so yes I’m late) and it was awesome. Samsung treated us pretty great there was lots of food, friendly & helpful faces and tons of giveaways. I got to see both the new smartphones the galaxy s6 edge Plus and the new note 5 as well as the Galaxy Tab s2.  Representatives from cell phone companies such as Verizon, sprint, and AT&T as well as OtterBox were also in attendance. They highlighted all the features from both phones such as live broadcasting straight to Youtube, video collage, apps & people’s edge for the S6 Edge + and the many great capabilities of the S pen for the Note 5. I have currently  both an Iphone & Samsung that I use daily, so I am not bias by any mean but right now I’m definitely leaning towards the Note 5 for my fall upgrade. Now for the new Tab S2 they were still trying to keep a bit of information under wraps about it because it wasn’t releasing any time soon but did see that it’s the size of three quarters stuck on top of each other which means it’s thin as hell. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next. Stay tuned in because next up is NYC Fashion Week!!!

Being Decent At The Block Party Gone Mad

I needed time to recover from all of the fun I had recently. My first music festival was MAD DECENT BLOCK PARTY over the weekend. Over the span of two days in a row (Saturday & Sunday) I jumped, skipped, and danced all over MCU Stadium in Coney Island. Saturday’s (which was my favorite) contained a line up of: 4B, Cashmere Cat & Trippy Turtle, Gents & Jawns, Vic Mensa, Die Antwood & Major Lazer. Everyone put on a great so from beginning to end. Cashmere Cat & Trippy Turtle had everyone on a groove train and I loooooved it. Die Antwood was full of energy with mask, backup dancers & a few butt check flashing & Vic Mensa had the crowd jumping through his whole set. But the main event of the night was Major Lazer. There were lights, smoke, ribbons, fire & of course lazers! Flags were waving, music was non-stop, shirts off, topless girls & probably a lot more I missed because I was dancing lol.  Sunday’s line up consisted of :Grandtheft, Party Favor,Tyler The Creator, Knife Party & Jack U . Sadly I got there late because I needed the extra sleep partying the night before I missed a few djs but I got there for the three main events. I previously seen Tyler The Creator in December and it was amazing. Not only did he put on a great show he also but he got so many girl to show there boobs….Oh glorious Tyler I bow to you!!! Knife Party got they party started. His beats had the shufflers bring out there fancy foot work. Now Jack U (a combo of Skrillex & Diplo) shut the stadium down!!! If you were in the stands you were dancing, if you were on the floor your were dancing, even if you were behind a hot dog cart you were dancing. They pulled out all the stops, playing their classic, bringing out special guest CL singing “Dr.Pepper” and ending the night off with their recent hit taking over the air waves “Where are you now”. It was amazeballs & Mad Decent Block Party will be taking my money next year!!! I had no “official” camera so check out my phone footage Here!!! lol Enjoy 🙂

Afro + Punk = AweMotherFuckinSome!!!

AfroPunk I missed you last year due to working at a great sleep away camp but it was 100% free then *(so I was told) low key kicks myself*. Sadly its is no longer free and I already brought tickets to a 2 day event for the summer so what am I to do??? Go to the 100% free one DUH!! Afropunk gave the lucky people who knew about it, a free preview of a little of what you can expect from the paid event & boy it was worth switching my day off. The Performers: Lion Babe, The Skins & Vintage Trouble. Lion Babe makes R&B music with a groove that make you want to jump around & sing or do a sexy dance in the mirror & sing, you get to choose. The Skins are a banging rock band from Brooklyn *SHOUT OUT TO BK* who actually performed last year at Afropunk. I actually seen them do a sound check at Sonos Studio while making a speaker. I know right a speaker….but during that moment they grabbed the attention of everyone in the room. Gladly I had my camera on my so I got a few cool pics. Now on to Vintage Trouble. I had no clue who they were but they let that be known ASAP. Their music is combo of country, rock, R&B, blues, & a hint of church. Now the lead singer TY & I had a connection. Okay I know what your thinking: LIES!!! But I wasn’t the only one who seen it. He knew I was taking pictures of him & would dead in my direction into my lens. It felt one of those movies, where at any point he was going to jump of stage (which he did), come straight to me, grab me by that back of my neck, bust out a high note into the mic while dipping me and I faint on the spot (Which didn’t happen). It was just one of those things you just have to be there for. For more pics click HERE!!!

SN: Check Out My Snapchat: Inattendance & my personal IG: Freespiritstuff  this weekend I’ll be at Mad Decent Block Party both days.

Pride & Cause

I got a chance to attend Roar: Broadway Sings for Pride 5th Annual Gay Pride Charity Concert to benefit The Tyler Clements Foundation. IT WAS AMAZING!!! Over 10 performances and special guest with the likes of Dasha Polanco of OTNB, Isis King from ANTM,  Jinkx Monsoon from RPDR & Frenchie Davis from American Idol AND the reunion of both A Chorus Line & Rent, how could it not be AMAZING!!!  On & off Broadway stars from the like of shows such as Aladdin, Legally Blonde, Avenue Q, Jersey Boys, Finding Never-land & many more, came to show support for such a great cause. I felt like a big ass kid sitting there watching it all because I have been to a few plays but the capabilities of all the actresses & actors performing in such an abundance was mind blowing. You can find more pictures I took of the even HERE!!!

To find out more visit Broadway Sings for Pride for more information on how to suppose a great cause & charity.

Digging In The Garden

Do to an untimely sickness I’ve been on house arrest but I’m alive…So I wander into Paper Garden Record Headquarters for a intimate concert that included it’s own artist by the name of Michael Hix & guest Ludwig & band Wilson. First of all Paper Garden Records HQ is beyond cute, a nice all white loft with gobs of sunny light & secondly the concert was one of a kind. I love it when I’m exposed to new music and that’s exactly what Michael Hix did. He play what I can only described as cinematic music. I felt like every song he played belonged in a movie scene involving water & deep thought about a new exciting yet unexpected journey in life. It was deep. Next up was Ludwig singing some cool groovy tunes playing his life away on the his organ. Then there was Wilson. This band put me in a zone. Comprised of 3 males: bass, guitar & drums with a female lead singer who also plays the guitar with a voice reminiscent of Lily Allen, they put on a hell of a show. I hope to be bless with another awesome show soon at Paper Gardens Records HQ & see Wilson perform again but until then head over to Paper Garden Records and check out something new.

Uomo Moderno 2 Year Anniversary

The skin was being shown on May 29 & for good reason. Uomo Modern an Italian men’s lifestyle magazine was celebrating it’s 2 year anniversary with a men’s swim wear fashion show by Tribe from Australia at the DL in New York City. Its began with an open bar which I missed 😦 but the fashion show made up for my sadness. Strutting down the runway in a mixture of speedo & swim briefs with beach balls & floating fish in hand the models soaked up all the attention from the many ladies in attendance.
